FAQ
What if it rains?
Great! The children love to experience the rain, jumping in puddles and catching water in saucepans for cooking in the 'mud kitchen'. The children are appropriately dressed in waterproofs and boots (see kit list below).
Do we go out in all weathers?
Yes most. It’s only very high winds that will stop us going out. In very cold weather the children will be dressed up warmly and remain active. We do have the option of going indoors, with plenty of space to play and learn. But yes, mostly we will be outdoors.
Kit list
For the children's comfort and safety it is essential that your child is dressed appropriately every day they come to ECO.
Waterproof jacket and trousers will have to be bought from us (60euros for the set). This is Helly Hansen rain gear and is fully waterproof and breathable.
Wellington boots - not fleece lined.
In warm weather the children need:
A sun hat
Sunscreen
In cold weather the children need:
A thermal layer including leggings and a long-sleeve top (Merino wool recommended)
Long, thick wool/thermal socks
A thin long-sleeved top
A warm wool jumper or fleece
Gloves or mittens - waterproof.
A warm hat and scarf.
We have found that Mountain Warehouse stock many of these items at reasonable prices.
Please ensure all your child's gear is labelled.
